Honored To Be A BlogPaws Pet Blogging & Social Media Awards Finalist!

The BlogPaws Nose To Nose Pet Blogging & Social Media Awards Finalists have been announced and we are bowled over to be among them!!  I was in shock the moment I learned that Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them was named a BlogPaws awards Finalist, in the category of Best Video - Sponsored Post.

I am beyond thrilled! I feel so honored to be named a Finalist in the prestigious BlogPaws Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards.

The BlogPaws Nose To Nose Awards recognize the expertise, creativity, performance and achievements of pet Bloggers and Influencers who write about pets online.

We were nominated for the video we created for our sponsored TRUE CHEWS blog post, My Life Is a Journey Made Better With Dogs.

My mind can't help returning to 4 years ago when I was a brand new Blogger attending my first BlogPaws Conference in Las Vegas.  I remember sitting in the audience of one of many blogging workshops thinking "There is No Way anyone will ever pay me to write about their products!"  But I continued to attend the educational sessions, listen and learn.

When I returned home I joined the BlogPaws network and continued learning everything I could about blogging and social media.  About a year later I got my first sponsored post.  Fast forward to 2018 and I've got many sponsored posts under my belt AND now I'm a Nose To Nose Awards Finalist!!

I only dared to hope that one day I might be awarded the recognition and honor of being named a BlogPaws Nose To Nose Award Finalist.  After 4 years of blogging, that day has come!

Phoebe is already wondering what to wear on the Red Carpet this year!

SNOW DOGS OR BEACH DOGS?

They say no two dogs are exactly alike, and that's certainly the case with my dogs, Icy and Phoebe!

My Siberian Husky, Icy, is a Snow Dog for sure!

I've got my tush high in the air for a reason, Come Play  in the Snow With Me!!

How dare you ask me a question, can't you see I've got a ball stuffed in my mouth?!?

But my dog Phoebe, a Havanese/Maltese/Bichon kind of mix is definitely a Beach Bunny!

I WROTE A LETTER TO SANTA TELLING HIM TO PUT MY SISTER PHOEBE ON THE NAUGHTY LIST.  I TOLD HIM SHE RIPPED UP THE COMFORTER IN THE GUEST ROOM - BUT REALLY I'M THE OLD WHO DID IT.

PLEASE DON'T RAT ME OUT!  I CAN'T GET ON THE NAUGHT LIST AGAIN - I'VE ALREADY GOT ENOUGH LUMPS OF COAL TO MAKE A SMALL MOUNTAIN.

High Tech Veterinary Care

I recently had the pleasure of visiting a state of the art Veterinary Clinic in Florida.  

Do you know what this weird looking piece of equipment is?

I was really impressed that this Veterinary clinic is using 3D printing to help repair leg injuries in pets!

I was pretty impressed when I learned that it's a 3D printer used to help Veterinarians caring for pets with leg injuries.  I find that pretty fascinating!

Phoebe is reading up on how 3D printing is used in Vet care!

Jetting Without My Dog

Poor Phoebe is disappointed that she won't be going with me to Jacksonville Florida to visit K9's  for Warriors.

Why won't you take me with you?  Look how good I behave in the carrier!

I have the privilege of being invited by Bayer Animal Health to pay a visit to K9's for Warriors.  I was going to bring Phoebe along but some logistical snafu's made me change my mind.  Sorry sweetie, it's best if you stay home this time around.

👉 K9's for Warriors is the nation's leading provider of Service Dogs for American Veterans struggling with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disability).  They're a tax exempt 501c3 organization

👉 They are dedicated to providing service canines to our warriors suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and/or military sexual trauma as a result of military service post 9/11.

👉 One of the things I love about the program is that so many of the dogs they pair with Veterans are Shelter Dogs!  K9's for Warriors trains these rescue dogs at their facility to prepare them for service to Veterans in need.

👉 K9's for Warriors goal is to empower these Veterans to return to civilian life with dignity and independence.

I'm excited to tour their facility and learn more about their process and all the great work they due to help Veterans!

FALL, WHERE ARE YOU??  

It's been in the 80's in New York for the last two weeks, c'mon Mother Nature hit us with some FALL already!

If you love Fall as much as we do .....

Fall, or Autumn as some prefer, is a great time to take a special trip with your dog.  The Summer crowds have thinned out and the weather is cool and crisp.  

🐶 How about a Fall trip to dog friendly Montauk  or The Hamptons in New York?  
🐶 History buffs that love witches, ghosts, and goblins, can bring the dog along on a "Witch Hunt" in Salem, Massachusetts.  
🐶 A weekend getaway to historical Colonial Williamsburg is a fun and educational vacation for the whole family.  

🐶 If you're on the West coast, Fall is the perfect time to visit Sedona, Arizona.  The scenic beauty will literally take your breath away!  The miles and miles of dog friendly hiking will keep your dog's tail wagging with sheer joy. 

We took Icy and Phoebe to all these places, each one warmly welcomed our dogs!

THE AMAZING BLOGPAWS CONFERENCE IN MYRTLE BEACH WAS A WHIRLWIND OF SEEING BLOGGER FRIENDS, MEETING SPONSORS & LEARNING!!

This was Icy & Phoebe's second conference!

At the BlogPaws Nose to Nose awards dinner with Kristin Avery of The Daily Pip and Denise Yoder-Gruzensky of Denise's Dog Dish.  It was such a beautiful event!

The best part about the BlogPaws conferences is seeing our blogger friends in person & hanging out together!  In this photo I'm with Kristin Avery of The Daily Pip, Robin Mudge of Playful Kitty, and Nose to Nose WINNER Susan Nation of Talent Hounds - Congrats Susan!  Congrats to Kristin for being a FINALIST in two categories as well!

  

The BlogPaws Blogging & Social Media conference culminates in celebration at the BlogPaws Nose to Nose awards dinner!  Congratulations to all the award winners and the 56 finalists as well, you are all WINNERS!! The official final list of award winners will be available on 5/26/17.

Tiptoe Through The Tulips

Phoebe was tip toeing through the Tulips this weekend.  The park near our house had their Tulip Festival.  

Phoebe enjoys the beautiful tulips at the park!

I'll post more pics of the Tulip Festival on Friday!  CAUTION: Tulips can be toxic to pets, so don't let your dog eat any part of the plant!
