Tiptoe Through The Tulips

Phoebe was tip toeing through the Tulips this weekend.  The park near our house had their Tulip Festival.

Therapy Dog Stress Buster

It's that time of year again.  I don't just mean the holidays, I mean FINALS!  At colleges across the U.S. college students are busting their humps on final assignments and hitting the books in preparation for final exams.

Yesterday Icy and I participated in a STRESS BUSTER event at a local University.

A lot hinges on finals and sometimes students can become unhinged from all that stress - Therapy Dogs to the rescue!  At this time of year Therapy Dogs participate in Stress Buster events at colleges, to give students a break from their studies and reduce stress with licks and wags!

I'm not sure who enjoys these visits more, the students or the Therapy Dogs!

My Owly Seasonal Greeting

I love making simple seasonal and holiday crafts this time of year.  Here's my Fall Owly wreath, which cost a whopping 14 bucks to make!

I made this simple Fall Owl wreath for around $14

I LOVE owls!  This one had such a pretty Fall coloring, I had to build my wreath around him!

I love owls! This one was so pretty I had to put him in my Fall wreath

Are we gonna eat this yummy looking owl for Thanksgiving, mama?

No Smartypants, we're having Turkey on Thanksgiving like always!

Super Simple & Not Expensive!  I bought a plain grapevine wreath at the craft store and chose this rust colored owl as the focal point of my wreath.  I wired the owl onto the wreath and then added a few other items from the craft store sale bins, wiring them around the wreath using floral wiring.  I included a couple of  pine cones from my yard and it was done!  I love all the Fall color this wreath gives my door.

So what are you having for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow; Owl or Turkey??  Leave us a comment!  Inquiring canine minds want to know.

Remembering Our Veterans With Deepest Gratitude

I spent today visiting my Dad's grave and reflecting on all those who have served in the U.S. military.  My Dad was a WWII Marine who received the Purple Heart after the battle at Tarawa in the Pacific in 1943, just days before his birthday.

Happy Veteran's Day, with deepest gratitude to our military

I am filled with gratitude for all those who are currently serving and who have served in the U.S. military to keep us safe and protect our freedom.

Happy Veteran's Day. Praying for peace on earth and grateful for our military.

LET FREEDOM RING!!!!

My Favorite Summer Read

Summer has faded away, but the memory of my favorite summer read hasn’t.   With my toes in the sand I journeyed with The Returns through their second crime solving adventure in M.K. Clinton’s book The Returns 2; Showstoppers!

M.K. Clinton's The Returns and The Returns 2; Showstoppers are two of my favorite dog books!
Relaxing on the beach this Summer reading The Returns 2; Showstoppers
 One of my favorite lines from Showstoppers is;

“If you can be content with who you are, how you look, and then try every day to make a difference to someone else, then it leads to a wonderful life.  It’s a shame more humans can’t grasp that fact.”  - M.K. Clinton

In Showstoppers, a devious team of individuals are stealing show dogs as part of a very sinister plot!  This book takes you from New Orleans to New York City.  I’ve never been to New Orleans but as a native New Yorker I can say that M.K. captured the vibe of New York City perfectly!

Sitting outside reading a great novel by M.K. Clinton with a hot cup of tea!
Enjoy a hot cup of tea, beautiful Fall weather, and a great book!
A new Return is introduced in Showstoppers who will steal your heart!  It’s funny, when a new character is introduced to a series, it usually takes a lot to get me to like them.   Not this time, I fell in love instantly!

So M.K, when can we expect a third book?  I’m thirsty for more Returns adventure, especially with the newest addition to The Returns team……

I love to relax with a hot beverage and a great book!
I love to enjoy crisp Fall mornings outside with a hot beverage and a great book!

What will your pet be for Halloween?

I selected my dogs' Halloween costumes weeks ago!  This year I wanted to get them pairs costumes.  I thought about making them superheroes like Batman & Robin or Superman & Wonder Woman.  But I decided on Princess Elsa and Olaf instead!

I couldn't help picking out my dogs' Halloween costumes early, they just look so cute!

LET IT GOOOOOO!   LET IT GOOOOOOO!!

I think Elsa & her buddy Olaf make a great team!
