Phoebe brings so much joy to our family! Adopting her was one of the best decisions we've ever made. Find your new best friend and family member at an animal shelter or rescue! |
SO WHAT'S A HUMAN TO DO?? ADOPT A DOG, OF COURSE!! PLEASE SHARE TO ENCOURAGE DOG ADOPTION THIS MONTH.
Think of all the fun Dog Friendly Events you could be taking your new dog to this Fall!

I love the "leaf" images - it has been raining so much here everything is soaked through and even the leaves are sad! Great shot - Happy fall!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry your leaves aren't happy! Hopefully the sun will come out soon & dry them up a bit. Phoebe gets a kick out of running through leaves so we let them pile up.
DeleteEvery month should be adopt a dog month! It's nice to know a special time has been set aside to encourage shelter adoptions. Too right about all the dog friendly events people are missing!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! I'm glad lots of people are placing a laser focus on dog adoption this month. Sometimes people just need to be reminded.
DeleteWhat a great holiday! Thanks for sharing your sweeet pup and her photos. <3
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a great time to remind folks how great pet adoption can be & nudge them to get out there and adopt.
DeleteDo you like playing in the leaves? Our boys do. Have fun cutie :)
ReplyDeleteI love to run through the leaves, so Mom lets them pile up for me!
DeleteGreat message! Wishing all the pups in shelters loving homes soon.
ReplyDeleteIt's a message that bears repeating, & often. I wish all the pups & kitties in shelters could find loving homes too.
DeleteIt's a message that bears repeating, & often. I wish all the pups & kitties in shelters could find loving homes too.
DeleteLove that you're promo-ing adoption for October! "click-treat"
ReplyDeleteIt's an important message to keep sharing! Actually every month is a great time to adopt, but it's nice to specifically place a focus on it and remind people in their busy day.
DeleteSuch an important month in so many ways. Thanks for reminding us of these great reasons too!
ReplyDeleteIt is a big month, definitely!
DeleteThis message is so important - #dontshopadopt is the motto in our house
ReplyDeleteI agree, I try to promote adoption as much as I can. Years ago I didn't get enough knowledge and reminders like this - I wish I had.
DeleteSuch a great post! I love my shelter dogs!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kerri, much appreciated! I love my shelter girl too.
DeleteShared, bringing awareness to and getting rescue dogs adopted is MAH JAMMY JAM!
ReplyDeleteGood for You!! It should be everyone's JAMMY JAM, LOL! Thanks for sharing this, I really appreciate it.
DeleteEvery cat in a shleter needs a home. Every dog needs a home. So pets need neutering so we can ALL have cats and dogs and no-one is unloved!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I'm a huge proponent of spay/neuter.
DeletePhoebe is precious and so very lucky to be your little girl. 🐾❤️
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks Melissa! I feel so lucky & so blessed to have found her. Can't imagine our family without little Phoebe!
DeleteAw so glad that Phoebe found a forever home with you! I hope lots of dogs get adopted not only this month but all the months to come.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I wasn't necessarily looking to adopt that day - but isn't that how it always goes, LOL!
DeleteWe've been trying to adopt a dog for Scout, our daughter, to grow up with, but have been cut off at seemingly every turn. We are hoping that this month is the month!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm so sorry, I'll bet just the right dog is there but just not "ready" for you just yet. Every girl should have a dog! Be patient, you'll be led to the right dog for Scout I'm sure.
DeleteWe can never write nor read enough on this subject!
ReplyDeleteExactly! It needs to be continually kept top of mind, talked about, and Shared!
DeleteWe adopted Mr. N in December. Guess we were off peak season by two months!
ReplyDeleteHey, any time's the right time for the right dog! We just need to remind everyone to Adopt and keep reminding them.
DeleteHaving a dedicated month to adoption is a great way to encourage dog adoption!
ReplyDeleteI think so too, it reminds people to adopt and keeps it in people's minds.
DeleteWe have always adopted our pets sometimes from shelters and other times as strays right off the streets. I absolutely LOVE adoption and hope others will consider it as an option for their next furry family member. Rescue pets rock!
ReplyDeleteI love it too! Every one of my pets was also a shelter pet or stray except for one, which sort of just happened - LONG story!
DeleteDreaming of the day all dogs have a loving home.
ReplyDeleteOh same here! I wonder what it will take??
DeleteI wish all dogs and cats could have a wonderful forever home.
ReplyDeleteSo do we, maybe one day in our lifetimes we won't need shelters anymore. I pray that happens.
DeleteI always try and do something special for a local shelter this month since we're not in a place to adopt right now. We normally try to put together a nice donation package for them.
ReplyDeleteI love that! What a beautiful thing to do for pets in need. Some shelters also have Day Foster programs where you can take a dog out of the shelter for just one day of fresh air, exercise, and love! It really helps. Have you blogged about your special shelter donation package? I'd love to read about it & see photos of what you include.
DeleteGreat post that gets right to the point! I hope tons of dogs and other pets are adopted throughout the remainder of the month (and beyond, of course). Thanks for reminding me of these monthly designations so I can be sure to share with my readers as well! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bryn! I so hope many, many pets get adopted. The holidays are coming & you know those hateful puppy millers are in full swing producing puppies for holiday gifting - which is a BAD idea!
DeleteMy parents also adopted three dogs from a PetSmart adoption organization and all three were amazing dogs. There's something very special about saving a dog's life and getting their amazing love and devotion in return.
ReplyDeleteKudos to your parents!! That's awesome. I agree, they can be the most loving, loyal pets. I truly believe they know they've been rescued!
DeleteAdopting a rescue pet is awesome! Several of my dogs came from a local shelter, most we got as puppies, but Theo was 4 or 5 when we adopted him. He has been a wonderful addition to our family!
